Repurpose
Your Vessel

Time to clean out your vessel and repurpose it into a planter.

From Temporary To Timeless

We go beyond just single use candles. With our "burn to bloom" concept, each candle is meant to transform and stay in homes for good.

With every CPD candle, you receive a vial of wildflower seeds and instructions on transforming the ceramic vessel into a vibrant planter. This unique concept, “Burn to Bloom,' ensures that your candle continues to bring beauty and life into your home long after the flame has faded.

cleaning out your vessel

More Than A Candle

Finished your candle and ready to plant your seeds? Let's clean out your vessel.

At Concrete Poppy Design, we believe in breathing new life into our products. Follow these steps to easily repurpose your vessel:

  1. Remove leftover wax: Burn candle until there is about 1/4th inch of wax left over. Fill your vessel with boiling water. The wax will melt and rise to the top.
  2. Cool and solidify: Let it cool for a few hours until a solid wax layer forms on top. You might need to repeat this step if there's a lot of wax left. Team Tip: Use a spoon or chopstick to help loosen any stubborn wax after water is poured in.
  3. Clean the vessel: Pop out the solid wax layer, remove the wick tabs from the bottom, and wipe with a paper towel. Tip: Run the vessel under hot water to remove any wax residue.

Your vessel is now ready to bring more joy to your home, whether as a planter, fruit bowl, or any creative use you envision!

Ready to plant

Your Seeds?

Ready to bring new life to your home? Here's how to plant your seeds in your clean vessel.

  1. Prepare your vessel: Ensure it's clean and free of any wax residue (Instructions above).
  2. Add soil: Fill the vessel with soil, leaving some space at the top. Tip: Add rocks to the bottom of your vessel to aid with drainage.
  3. Plant your seeds: Sprinkle your wildflower seeds on top and mix them into the soil at a depth of about 1/8 inch. Gently water the soil.
  4. Maintain moisture: Keep the soil moist over the next week to ensure successful germination.
  5. Find a sunny spot: Place your vessel in a sunny location. Within a week, you should see sprouts begin to appear.

Once sprouts appear, they’ll need plenty of light to grow strong and healthy. A windowsill works wonders! Lightly water them when the top inch of soil feels dry, typically every few days. Remember, overwatering can be just as harmful as underwatering, so aim for moist, not soggy, soil.

transfering outside

Backyard Blossoms

Wildflowers are meant to thrive. Once they outgrow your vessel, transfer them outside in the spring, and enjoy their return year after year.
This pollinator blend will attract bees, supporting a healthy ecosystem in your garden or street corner.
Then, reuse the vessel for your favorite houseplant or find a new purpose, breathing new life into it, just as it was thoughtfully designed to do.
